About 1,000 Bangladeshi Islamists attempted to march around the U.S. embassy in Dhaka on Thursday to protest against a U.S. film that's stated to insult the Prophet Mohammad but security forces stopped them reaching the mission, police and witnesses stated.

Anti-U.S. protests have exploded in a number of nations now. On Tuesday evening, gunmen stormed the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, and the U.S. ambassador and three other staff members were wiped out.

In Bangladesh, about 1,000 people from the Khelafat Andolon group shown within the capital and threatened to step-up their protests once they were blocked from approaching the U.S. embassy. There have been no reviews of violence.

"We'll stage bigger protests within the problem and can also besiege the U.S. embassy," stated Moulana Hemayetuddin, a senior leader from the group.
