Human privileges activist and freedom fighter Sultana Kamal told the war crimes tribunal on Wednesday that Jamaat-e-Islami guru Ghulam Azam 'must happen to be the main one to approve the execution of intellectuals' in 1971 throughout the Liberation War.
Former Jamaat chief Ghulam Azam's defence counsel had requested the prosecution witness whether she understood when and where Azam, indicted for war crimes on Apr 13, had approved the murder from the Bangladeshi intellectuals.
The witness stated the leader of Al Badr, Motiur Rahman Nizami, seemed to be an innovator from the Jamaat. "And because the Jamaat chief should have approved the accomplishments."
