A Dhaka court has scrapped an earlier order granting bail to 5 top authorities of Destiny 2000 Limited, including its Controlling Director Mohammad Rafiqul Amin, in 2 money washing cases.

Acting Judge Mohammad Aktaruzzaman from the Senior Special Judge's Court gave an order on Wednesday after nodding an Anti Corruption Commission (ACC)'s plea seeking overview of the main Metropolitan Magistrate's Court's decision to grant them bail.

Others, whose bails were scrapped, are Destiny 2000 Limited Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Harun-Ar-Rashid, Controlling Director Mohammad Rafiqul Amin, and authorities Mohammad Hossain, Mohammad Gofranul Haque and Mohammad Sayeedur Rahman.

Mosharraf Hossain Kajal, who represented the ACC within the hearing, told journalists the police could nab the accused whenever since their bail order have been scrapped.

A legal court can also be scheduled to listen to the ACC plea, filed on Tuesday, to scrap bail of 17 other authorities within the situation on Sunday, he added.

On This summer 31, ACC Assistant Director Md Towfiqul Islam and Deputy Director Mozahar Ali Sardar had filed the 2 cases in the Kalabagan Police Station against 22 Destiny authorities on charges of embezzling around Tk 35 billion of their clients and washing the cash.

The complainants had alleged the Destiny authorities misappropriated the total amount through Destiny Tree Plantation Project and Destiny Multipurpose Cooperative Society. Towfiqul Islam had stated the accused initially moved the cash to numerous non-lucrative and inoperative organizations and then moved money to their personal accounts.

On August 6, a legal court of Chief Metropolitan Justice of the peace had granted bails to 5 Destiny authorities including its Leader Harun-Ar-Rashid and Controlling Director Mohammad Rafiqul Amin once they surrendered prior to the court.

The corruption watchdog's lawyer, Rafiqul Islam Mithu, had on August 13 moved the Senior Special Idol judges Court seeking overview of the bail order from the top brass of the organization. A legal court had scheduled the hearing for August 30 that was then moved to Sep 12.

Within the applications, ACC contended that based on the Money Washing Act, a magistrate's court was without the legal right to hear bail pleas, because it was the exclusive jurisdiction from the special judge's court.

Consequently, the applications stated, the orders granting bail towards the Destiny authorities were ultra vires.

17 authorities from the Destiny 2000 had surrendered in the courtroom from the Chief Metropolitan Justice of the peace and searched for bails in the two caser. Later, these were also granted bail.

Based on the ACC law, when the allegation of misappropriation is demonstrated, the accused will need to spend the money for sufferers double the amount money they required from their store.
